Jinyi Liu is the Founder of Music Pathway, a New York-based music education organization dedicated to providing high-quality music instruction, performance opportunities, and artist development programs for students of diverse ages and backgrounds.

As Founder, Ms. Liu oversees the organization’s strategic and artistic development, including curriculum and program design, faculty recruitment and development, student learning pathways, performance programming, and community engagement. She has developed and managed a growing range of initiatives encompassing private instruction, recitals and music salons, masterclasses, intensive training programs, ensemble and choir programs, and performance opportunities in New York City. Her work focuses on building an educational environment that connects individualized musical training with meaningful performance experiences and long-term artistic growth.

Ms. Liu earned her Master’s degree in Music Education from Columbia University, where her studies further expanded her expertise in music education, curriculum development, teaching and learning, and educational leadership. This training has played an important role in shaping her approach to developing Music Pathway as both an educational institution and an artistic community.

She received her Master of Music in Piano Performance from the Mannes School of Music, where she studied with renowned pianist Blair McMillen. She previously graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Arizona, studying with John Milbauer and Rex Woods and receiving multiple scholarships during her undergraduate studies.

Beginning piano studies at the age of five, Ms. Liu has also studied with distinguished musicians including Professor Cui Honggen of the Central Conservatory of Music, Daniel Epstein of the Manhattan School of Music, and Sandra Shapiro of the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Her performance achievements include First Prize in the youth category of the inaugural Yamaha National Piano Competition, First Prize in the college category of the Yamaha Academy Cup Piano Competition, Third Prize at the 2014 Yongchang Music Piano Competition in South Korea, and Second Prize—with First Prize unawarded—at the 2016 Liszt Cup International Piano Festival. She also performed the Yellow River Piano Concerto with the Zhangjiakou City Chinese Symphony Orchestra for three consecutive years.

Ms. Liu has performed internationally in cities including Vienna, Rome, Beijing, Tianjin, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and New York. Today, she brings together her experience as a pianist, educator, and founder to create educational programs that support students not only in developing strong musical skills, but also in building confidence, artistic identity, and lasting engagement with music.
